Yunomi - Shino - Reduction fired - SH28
Handmade wheel-thrown yunomi in white stoneware with a shino glaze.
These are one-off pieces, thrown off the hump. The reduction atmosphere of the charcoal sagger inside the kiln creates the peachy orange blush.
Fired to cone 6 in a charcoal reduction firing saggar, then fired again to cone 5 in oxidation.
My maker's mark is brushed on the base in black underglaze after the foot ring has been turned by hand.
This one has a mainly satin matte finish with some texture where the heat of the kiln has become particularly intense.
