Pouring Bowl - Handmade in Speckled Stoneware with "Grain" Blue Green glaze

£28.00

Hand thrown pouring bowl in speckled stoneware with a variegated blue/green glaze.

The bowls are thrown at my potter's wheel, and while still wet the spout is formed by gently pulling the form out with wetted fingers. Throwing lines are left in the surface of these bowls for more texture and colour variation, and also to create an unfussy rustic feel. Flecks of basalt in the clay give a grainy finish.

The spout serves as both a pourer for sauces and also a convenient thumb handle when used as a serving bowl for passing round the dinner table.

Turned foot ring with maker’s mark brushed on the base in underglaze.

Dishwasher and microwave safe but hand-washing recommended.

Raw glazed and single fired in the kiln to cone 8 (1255c) in an oxidising atmosphere.
